Dallas...SUCKS!

For the first time in my life, I was really pulling for the New York Football Giants to win. Not because I like the Giants, oh no, but because I despise everything that is the Dallas Cowboys. And wouldn't ya know it, Eli Manning gets his second playoff win while Tony Romo falls to 0-2 in his career!

What an awesome feeling to watch Romo, Jerry Jones and Mr. TO all go down together in one heeping pile of failure. That 13-3 record means jack squat now, and so does that division title since the G-Men beat them to advance. For 17 terrible weeks I had to listen to how the Cowboys were the best team in the NFC and there was no way they weren't going to the Super Bowl. But alas, they still have no playoff wins in the last 10 years. And Owens wasn't at a loss for words (or tears). He "supported" his faltering QB even though for the second straight year he FAILED in the clutch. Wonder how much longer T.O. will put up with that.

And don't blame the whole Jessica Simpson thing for Romo's mediocre performance. That's ridiculous. Did it ever occur to anyone that maybe Romo just doesn't have what it takes down the stretch to push his team to another level? Is it possible the Giants played a great game? Guess what, if Romo was the Giants QB, he'd be getting BLASTED in the media for his inability to win a playoff game. Oh, but it's OK because his QB rating is high and he plays in Dallas and he's been to two straight Pro Bowls. WRONG! Donovan McNabb has been to 5 Pro Bowls, is 7-5 for his postseason career, and has an NFC Championship. But he gets ripped apart every year because he doesn't come through in the end. But for some reason, Romo gets a pass. I don't care that it's his second year as the starter. If he's REALLY as good as everyone says he is, shouldn't he be getting equal treatment? I mean, he's not getting paid $60 million to lose playoff games, especially as the top seed in the conference.

OK, so I wanted to celebrate the Cowgirls' loss, but the post turned into an anti-Romo rant instead. Still felt good to write. Of course, I'm not saying Romo is a poor QB. He is one of the top 10 in the league right now. But I just don't see why everyone seems to take it easy on him (especially Owens) when he doesn't come through (again) at the end of the season. Now after feeling so good that the Giants won, New York had better get its ass kicked by Green Bay on Sunday.

I've been a Cowboys fan for 35 years. Guess what-Peyton Manning was a "failure" until he won the SB, Romo has plenty of time. Two games does not make a career.
