Divisional Playoffs

"They" say the surest thing in sports is betting on the home team in the NFL Divisional Playoff round. Apparently those teams have something like a .730 winning percentage since the early 1990s. So whatever. I went 2-2 in Wild Card Weekend, losing with Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay (two home teams), but nevertheless I'm sticking with the formula for this round.

(FYI: Our beloved Eagles are 3-0 under Andy Reid in home divisional playoff games, so I guess it counts for something.)

Dallas 21, N.Y. Giants 20 - It's going to be close because these are two teams that know everything about one another. And T.O. may not be 100%. Could go either way, but gotta give a slight advantage to the home team.

Green Bay 24, Seattle 21 - This game will be very close as well. Everybody seems to sleep on the Seahawks, but they're pretty darn good and have a hugely underrated QB in Matt Hasselbeck. Lambeau is the deciding factor between two even teams.

Indianapolis 38, San Diego 21 - Like Dr. Z of SI, I smell a romp. The Colts should have won the first matchup after Peyton was picked off six times. So let's reduce those INTs by five, switch the setting to the RCA Dome, and what do we have? An easy Indy win.

New England 31, Jacksonville 24 - Only a touchdown will seperate these two. The Patriots defense has shown a lot of vulnerability, but its offense will be just good enough to wear down the Jags. Jacksonville will hang in there though.

Phillies in 2008 preview will be coming soon, but I'm a little busy today getting ready to go back to Syracuse so it might not be till late in the day when I have a chance to concentrate on it.
