Flyers keep the points coming

For the 9th time in 10 games, the Flyers were able to record at least a point, and they got two today thanks to a 6-4 win over the suddenly hot Capitals. It's also their seventh win in nine games, so things seem like they're getting better in Philly.

We managed to get four unanswered goals to take a 4-1 lead in the second period, thanks in part to Kimmo Timonen's two assists. I'm glad he got an All-Star invite - he's been huge for this team's renewed defensive effort. He also added an empty-netter to seal the win and finish the day with three points.

Martin Biron was finally back in goal after Nittymaki's run, but it appears he wasn't extremely impressive. I don't think I should be worried, but I'm a little concerned that he's going to go through a downturn. That's why I'm happy Nittymaki has played well, as it seems that he may be creating a controversy in the net.

- Mike Knuble is not the goal scorer he once was, but he managed to score the first two goals for Philly. That's his first two-goal game of the year.
- Good job of winning the second leg of a back-to-back, which is never easy. Especially after a long game the day before.
- 11 players recorded at least a point.
- 23-15-5, 51 points, STILL 3rd in the Atlantic, 4 points behind New Jersey

The Flyers are now 7-1-2 in their last 10. But they're still mired in the middle of the Atlantic. No worries, though, plenty of time to make up the ground. They're currently 6th in the conference, and if the season ended today they would face Carolina in the first round.
