Sixers Say Goodbye to 2007 with a Win

The second game of a back-to-back is harder to get than the first. Coming off a loss to the Blazers the night before, the Sixers travelled to Seattle hoping to end the year on the right track. The result: a 98-90 win over the Sonics.

Seattle was without top scorers Kevin Durant and Chris Wilcox, both out with injuries, so the Sixers got a little lucky. But they'll take wins any way they can get 'em. Andre Iguodala once again led the charge with 25. Lou Williams had 19 points in 21 minutes, including 13 in the fourth quarter and a near-perfect performance from the charity stripe. Sweet Lou also had four steals. Sammy Dalembert swatted 6 shots and Andre Miller once again was what we can call just being himself these days, with 15 points, 7 assists, and 5 boards.

The Sixers next game is against the Jazz on Wednesday night.

Of Interest:

The Sixers have taken 5 of the last 6 from the Sonics. The teams square off in Philadelphia on March 7.

Gordan Giricek scored 6 points in 14 minutes in his Sixers debut.

Kyle Korver scored 11 points in his first game with the Jazz and Utah ended Portland's 13-game win streak with a 111-101 victory last night.

The Clippers snapped a six-game losing skid with a 91-82 win over the league-worst Timberwolves. LA was 0-14 from beyond the arc but still pulled out the win.

The Magic beat the Bulls 112-110 in overtime on a game-winner from Hedo Turkoglu with 0.7 ticks left.
