Disaster Strikes

Okay, I am officially disgusted. Explain to me how the Sixers manage to lose 124-93. Can't explain it? Didn't think so.

Not a single Laker had 20 points; Javaris Crittenton (say it with me... who??) came closest with 19. This guy averages six and a half minutes per game and just over two points. P.S., he's only seen action in 12 games this season. A total of seven guys scored in double figures for LA. The Philly defense/lack thereof made a bunch of the Lakers look like stars.

LA completes the season sweep of Philly, having won 106-101 on December 21 at the Wachovia Center.

Now did you expect a Sixers post without a little Korver thrown in? Ironically, Christina Aguilera's "Fighter" came on my iPod just after I started writing this post. This team doesn't really seem to be fighting right now. Maybe the Kyle Korver trade has taken a bigger toll on the team than we originally thought. You can argue that replacing Korver with Giricek doesn't really alter the team's numbers. You cannot, however, argue that the trade did not have an effect on the players. Many of them were close friends of KK's, and Mo Cheeks had to have a chat with his team about the business side of basketball after the trade.

The team isn't clicking anymore. And before the trade, they were starting to click. Something just isn't right. The Sixers have one more chance to correct things out west Sunday night at 8 when they face yet another former teammate: Allen Iverson... and his Denver Nuggets. The Northwest Division leaders have a 13-5 record at home.

OF INTEREST: The Pistons and Celtics meet for the second time this season "tonight" (Saturday). Detroit comes in on an 11-game winning streak; Boston's taken its last 8 since losing to the Pistons at home on December 19.

Eva I am just as disgusted as you for the loss but I think you are underrating Lakers bench players, they can play !

As for KK I will try to explain deeper my opinion with a specific post, but you can't judge the move now, it was clearly a trade for cap reasons so we have to wait at least this summer to have a fair thought

Denver game starting in 5 minutes, I am pumped !
