Nightly Recap and Morning Preview

New Feature: Cole Hamels fact of the day.

For Halloween, Chuck Norris went as Cole Hamels.

Our thoughts on CuseAdelphia today:

What went on Monday:

What's going on Tuesday:

  • The Ladies travel to Depaul to take on the Blue Demons.
  • The Los Angeles Kings travel to Philadelphia. Game starts at 7 and is on Comcast SportsNet.

Games of Interest:

UCONN 69, Louisville 67. Syracuse's upcoming match up with the Huskies is looking less winnable after each UCONN game. The Huskies win again without Jerome Dyson and Doug Wiggins who were suspended for possession of alcohol. The game stayed close all game with UCONN holding the largest lead of 10, but Louisville was eventually able to tie before falling by two points. I still can't figure out Louisville. Every time they start to play well and you think they are becoming the team that the coaches voted first in the Big East with Georgetown, they lose a game.

I've followed UCONN for a good number of years now and even though they're so young and this year was supposed to be another step towards rebuilding, if the tournament started today I truly believe that they could contend with some higher seeds. They run the court very well. They're extremely athletic. Thabeet makes "rookie" mistakes on occasion but has really established the paint as his own. You can't say enough about A.J. Price, what a player. The more big game experience this team gets, the better they'll be. I really expect the Huskies to go deep in the Big East tourney and finish with maybe a 5 seed in the tournament.

Yeah UCONN scares me more every game and I hate them to pieces. If there is one team I wouldn't want to lose to it's UCONN. I can't wait to see 32,000 plus people in the Dome next Wednesday for this game.

Fleiz's numbers on offense are better (or close) than the phils 3b last yr and was rated as one of if not the best fielding 3b in baseball last yr (
http://www.fieldingbible.com/). David Wright won the gold glove with a .954 fielding percentage and feliz had a.973 at 3B.

Compare offensive #s for yourself at

Remember 20 HRS playing in SF which is a pitcher's park.

Is it the best option that could have happened? No, but it is suitable.

Anon. I understand what you're saying definitely, i'm just skeptical because he doesn't draw walks and has an absolutely terrible OPS. I would rather have Brandon Inge because he's younger. He's someone that they could sign to a longer deal and had him for awhile. I'm hoping CBP revives Felix's offensive numbers.

I just really wanted to make the washed up Giant 3B allusion.

You mean Inge that is going back to catching? The plan is for him to take over for Pudge after next yr. He is a guy who has had one good year and one average year the other 5 years he was bad with his best yr being a BA at .253. That makes sense to me?!?!

I think the Phillies have their guy in Brennan King for the future he is a bit older at 27 but still in 2 yrs he will be 29 and younger than both Feliz and Inge are now.

Also, Feliz was batting to try and protect Bonds last yr, he will bat lower and be more comfortable.

By the way it is Feliz and Feliz

Other message was me by the way just didn't enter anything.
